
This online course of eight hours was developed for water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) professionals in Nepal. It is intended to provide you with a better understanding of WASH systems strengthening and your own role in it.

Course objectives
Course objectives are to understand:
- what is WASH systems strengthening.
- how and why was WASH systems strengthening developed.
- how to start applying WASH systems strengthening in Bangladesh.
Each session has specific objectives which are outlined at the start. At the end of the course you will have a good understanding of the WASH systems strengthening approach.
Course outline
The online course is divided into eight sessions.
- Session 1: Introducing the WASH Systems Academy
- Session 2: From broken pumps to lasting services
- Session 3: What is WASH systems strengthening?
Test 1: Test your knowledge of Sessions 1–3
- Session 4: Hygiene systems strengthening
- Session 5: Sanitation systems strengthening
- Session 6: Water systems strengthening
- Session 7: Leaving no one behind
- Session 8: Applying WASH system strengthening
Test 2: Test your knowledge of Sessions 4–8 and download your certificate
You can move through each session at your own pace but should complete all the sessions in consecutive order (i.e., from Session 1 to 8). You can pause the course at any point and your progress will be saved.
Course duration
This online course is self-paced and self-guided and has an estimated average minimum duration of 8 hours.
