
When WASH systems are strong, they deliver services that meet people's needs. When they are weak, services are poor, unreliable or fail altogether.
Course objectives
This course covers the basic concepts of WASH systems strengthening for Ghana. It's about understanding how to achieve sustainable WASH service delivery for all in Ghana and how to function effectively in the process. It will help you understand the WASH systems strengthening approach:
- what it is
- how and why it was developed
- how to start applying it.
Each session has specific learning objectives which are outlined at the start. At the end of the course you will have a good understanding of the WASH systems strengthening approach for Ghana.
Course outline
The online course is divided in two parts and is as follows:
- Session 1: Introducing the WASH Systems Academy
- Session 2: From broken pumps to lasting services
- Session 3: What is WASH systems strengthening?
- Session 4: WASH is a service
- Session 5: It is about more than safe water
- Session 6: Applying WASH system strengthening
You can move through each session at your own pace but should complete all the sessions in consecutive order (i.e., from Session 1 to 6). You can pause the course at any point and your progress will be saved.
Course duration
The minimum average course duration is 8 hours.
